Visitors

This week end was one for visitors. I had visits from family. I even went out to campsite for a meal and visit. They came to my house a couple of times. The visits were great. I saw two sons,one grandson,two granddaughters, three great granddaughters,and one great grandson. There were daughter-in- laws and a few others with them. They were at two different camp sites in two different towns but they stopped here for a visit.
I showed two of my great granddaughter s a picture of their parent with Santa Clause and then a picture of their grandpa with Santa. I don't know if my daughter-in-law had seen baby pictures of her husband that were over 50 years old.
This was a cold weekend,record breaking in spots and I sort of felt sorry for the campers but was glad I got to see them.

Have You Ever?

When I worked in the group home I always said this one resident was his own worse enemy because he had enough on the ball that he knew what he was missing.
I am beginning to have days like that now when I realize what I am missing. What I can't do any more. Not every day is like that but they are getting more frequent.
Oh well, at least I am able to live in my home on my own most of the time. My yard is not always like it should be and some jobs around the house are not done. Today someone came over and did my lawn and weed wacking for me.
I have to change my expectations.

Fun Time and Itty Bitty's visit.

It has been quite awhile since my little greatgranddaughter has visited me. What a joy. She has changed so much and has gotten smarter and I can understand her when she speaks. She had a couple of busy days while she was here. Friday night we went to a Freedom Program at college near by. I wasn't sure if she would make it until the fireworks, but I pooped out before she did.
Part of the problem was I didn't have a chair only blanket. My getting up or down does not make for a pretty picture.
The music was great. The look on Lexie's face when the base drum was hit was priceless. We heard blue grass and then a Brass Band from Iron Mountain played. The speaker for the evening was a pilot that was originally schedule to fly out of Boston on 9/11. He is a Commander in Navy Reserve and flies for American Airlines. I didn't get to hear the complete story how he was
saved from being the pilot on that plane because I had to leave. I was done. Lexie was still going until she was put in the car seat and she was asleep before we were off college grounds. Saturday we saw fireworks from my front porch. There were about three different people shooting them off. On Sunday, I saw more from my house. I would have liked Lexie see Sundays fireworks.
Sunday I noticed my car had a low tire. Couldn't have noticed it sooner when Bob was up. I had to go up for fasting blood work first thing this morning so I asked my neighbor to air it up for me. He did and the blood work was done. I came right back home for a cup of coffee and food. I am glad I can still do these things. Have a great week and God Bless.

Self propelled

Since the grass hasn't been cut since that fateful day- I borrowed my neighbor's lawn mower. She had said it is self propelled and easier since I won't have to push it. Her son started it for me and smiled as I chased the mower down the drive way. I was holding it but it was going faster than I wanted to go. After I got used to it and didn't have to race I cut the front yard and the sides of the house. Living on a corner there is enough lawn. I didn't do the back yard because I was done in more than one way.
That self propelled bit is great but I never could have done so much without it. My lawn looks nice and I am well pleased.
If I take a nap this afternoon in my chair I deserve It!!

Quiet Week

This has been a quiet week for me. I took two trips with my car. One to WalMart and one to do my laundry. We have had a few really hot days and I pretty well stayed in house. I am not pushing my luck. I have had to sit down and stop what I am doing a few times which is really getting to be a pain. I start getting light headed and I quit. My BP is staying down.
I haven't had any visits with my greatgrands except by phone. My neighbor has come over and one morning I sat outside on my porch before six in the morning listening to a crazy woodpecker pecking on a metal sign. Not too much food there! The bird was here last year to. It is a great way to enjoy your morning coffee

Indestructable NOT

Well this week I found out just how quick things can change. One minute you are getting a job done in your garden, and in the next you need help to get to your house. High blood pressure can go down really fast and if your not careful you will be down to. It can go back up after a bit but the question is why did it go down. I am not sure of the answer but I found out that my town and my neighbors are great. There are people out there willing to help.
Things I learned this week!!!!
1.I don't have a liking for being sick!
2. Even if the hospital is the best- I don't like it.
3. Even if the nurses are great they can't make me want to be there.
4. My blood pressure goes up and continues to go up while I am confined to a bed.
They say your never too old to learn but I know I can have a BA (bad attitude) but I am so thankful for my other BA(Blessed Assurance)
I guess I just wanted a little excitement.

Out For A Stroll

Tonight when I looked out my window I see a doe walking in front of my house. She was just walking at a slow pace down the street. She stopped to eat and I watched as did my neighbors after I called them. I hadn't seen deer in town for a few years but being close to the woods I wasn't surprised but enjoyed the view. She continued her stroll headed back to the wooded area.
Living in a small town up north I have seen many animals and I enjoy each one except maybe the skunk or snakes. God did make some beautiful beasts.

Week

This has been a quiet week. Not much to tell. I had to search for some bacon because when I went to the store I also bought a card that I mailed out right away at the post office. The next day bacon was missing. I searched like crazy doing some places twice. First the logical places then the unlikely places. When I couldn't find it I thought of my car and thats exactly where it was.
It was sitting on the front seat in the bag from the store. Thats the joy of getting old. I hadn't put it somewhere dumb. I just didn't bring it in. Concentrated on doing the card and not buying bacon. :o)
I guess it was a senior moment!!!LOL

Old Friends

Today while I was waiting to pick up some meds someone spoke to me. It was someone I worked with. He was a very good guy to work with. Our conversation wasn't too long but it was good to see him. Tonight while thinking of my day I suddenly realized that it was 25 years ago that I worked with Herb. That meeting brought back alot of memories.

Flying

The plane crash really makes you think! You can't depend on having many days on this earth. You have to make sure you don't carry grudges and let things that won't change your life get to you. People are all different and have their ways. Hurts can't last forever.
I pray that the people on that flight didn't leave too much unsaid and are in a better place than they were .

I'm Back

With the help of my son and his wife I visited with my sister and her husband. I went thru security at the air ports with special security since I can't go thru the metal detector. LOL I had a chance to visit with my nephew and his wife. For many reasons visiting with them is a joy and a bit of fun. I ate enough food to feed an army. My sis and I lost a great deal of sleep just talking,remembering. It was a great trip and I am so so glad I had the chance to do it.

Laugh-Sometimes Thats all you Can Do

Today I was tired and had no oomph but i wanted to finish cleaning out ancient things in my cupboards and spice rack. I finished and had a black garbage bag pretty full. I knew my son left a bag of broken toys in the back hall and I had a broken coffee pot there to. I also wanted to take my car for a short spin today. So I decided to get a big bag and put everything in that one big bag and go to the disposal place that charges $2 a bag. I managed to get the heavy bag into the back seat of my car.
Drove the nine miles to the place hoping I would get some help moving the bag. No such luck since the man was busy with a big truck. Oh well,didn't want to move car too close where the truck was dumping so i got the bag out and started to walk. I went about4 feet and the bag broke right there in the drive way. So I tried to get cans,dry cereal and spices plus the other bag into my big bag. i unloaded that and with two more trips I cleaned up all the rest sitting in the driveway. What you gonna do?
Laugh thats all you can do.

The Day

It was a good day. My "boss" and i went out for lunch. Isn't it strange that this women I like i still call her my "boss". She was for quite a few years but I introduced her today to someone as my ex boss. Most of the time she was a very good boss. I feel like I might not have stayed in my job until retirement if it wasn't for her. I had other bosses but none of them as long and I always call them by name. I call her by name in conversation.
I respect her and know her life wasn't always easy. Carolyn you are special!!

DDDD

The four D's describe what I am feeling. This is a dark dreary damp day. It could really get you down. So I baked some muffins. Went through my cupboards and threw out things that were way past there good date. I have a way of hiding things in my cupboards. I don't even know what I have sometimes. So DDDD isn't all bad .

What a Week and Happy Mother's Day

This has been some week. My son and his son dug up the septic tank so it could be pumped out. Old house very low tank about 6 foot deep if not more. Nice large hole in my back yard and the great grands are here to. They had to see of course and got so close to the hole. What we said didn't mean much-this was something different for them. Lucky for them, only my son and grandson had to deal with falling. The walls gave way more than once and they had to dig out what they had dug out more than once.No easy access here. It was open overnight and in the morning my son had to dig out what had fallen in. It was pumped at 10 in the morning so it was closed and covered quickly. My yard is a mess but a month from now grass will be growing and hopefully the house will look better. In the front yard I have tulips almost open, The peony bushed are growing.
The daffodils are holding on. The violets are up-but hard to see in the midst of some tulips.
This morning I woke up to the furnace running. It was 36 but it suppose to feel like 28 degrees. Tonight it will get down to 34.
I had hoped to get some work done in the yard but it isn't going to be today. My neighbor Dawn has tulips in bloom and loads of daffidill areas in her yard plus more color in other flowers. Her yard is absolutly beautiful. My ggs wanted to pick when I took her over to see all the flowers.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY and remember folks there are fathers doing motherly duties while mom is overseas.

May Day

My wish to all is that we have a day of happiness with children doing a dance around a pole or leaving flowers at the door of a friend.
With all that is going on in this world we do not need to hear "May Day" the international distress call.

Greatgrandma's Joy

On Monday my son came up with my 4 year old ggs and almost 2 ggd. They seem to be changing every time I see them.
Talking more and able to do so much more. I watched my ggs get dressed and undressed. (Going back to when I worked)
After doing my wash at the laundermat we went out to eat for supper. The kids were great. Funny to see spaghetti eaten by my ggd. She wanted a fork but her hands worked pretty good to. From her nose to her chin you could see spaghettti. I couldn't cut it fast enough. The chicken she ate one tiny little piece. They were so good. When it came time to pay the bill I was told "Those kids were so good we hardly knew they were here" I was proud of them. When we went in I told them we were going into a big people s place and big people don't like noisy kids. They were so good! They left on Tuesday. But that trip was special.
My son started my lawn mower for me and teased me about it. He can give me a hard time but he has a smile on his face when he does.

Green Cleaners

I googled green cleaners and found Oregon Metro that has all kinds of cleaners and how to make them. I did know about how much vineger and baking soda work. Hydrogen peroxide is also a goodie. WalMart sells some green cleaners but we can make our own. I heard that a can of coke is a good way to clean a toilet. lets work on going green.

Here we go again

We are waiting for the 70s today. This is true Wisconsin weather. You never know how to dress and do you leave the shovel or the rake out. But I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I like all the seasons we have even if you can't go by the calender. I know it just takes getting used to it.
My 3 month old ggs was in the emergency room last week because where he was at used too much bleach. He had trouble breathing. Itty bits are bothered so easily by the chemicals people use. We have to go green, There are so many natural cleaners that we can use. Whats more important than our children? We are not doing to great by this earth either.
There was nothing wrong with it until man started to fix? or make better?

Spring???

Well, I was able to work on my yard and see the tulips and dafadils that were coming up. But now the weather has changed and we are looking at 1 to 3 inches of snow to come tomorrow. Out west one place received over 50 inches so I can't complain. The snow won't undo what I have done but it will slow up the flowers. I hope it freezes a few ticks. You usually wait for hot weather in july to get rid of them. I just have to see what comes. My friend has flowers blooming in her garden but crocus are early plants. The end of May is the time I plant. To go from the 70s to snow is not new but when you are warm you forget.

Great Day

Yesterday it was in the 60s and a bright sunny day. Not the kind of day to be house bound. I started working on my yard again.
I worked awhile, go into the house rest awhile and go back outside and work some more. My peony bushes are old but still beautiful. I needed to get the old removed so the new can come in. I didn't see any new growth yet but it will be soon. I also clean around the day lilies on one side of the house. I still have some to do on the other side of the house. I marked where some other plants were coming up.
Now for the bad news. Ticks are back. When I took my sweater off there was one sitting on my shoulder. Yuk! I flushed it down real quick.
When I couldn't stay awake I gave up and went to bed by 8:30. Those quick naps in between the yard work didn't keep me from getting a good nights sleep.

Weekend

My son John and his wife Rebecca came for a visit. It was a nice visit. We talk alot but they haven't been up here for six months.
You can't hug someone over the phone.

This Week's News

It has really been a week so far. My son and my 1 year old greatgranddaughter came up on Monday. Monday afternoon when he took me shopping I lost my Debit card at WalMart in the parking lot. I didn't discover it was missing until Monday evening. No one turned it in at the store so I had to report it gone. I then was told to call my bank and let them know in the morning. I didn't get much sleep that night. When I called in the morning the bank had received a call and that they were bringing the card to the bank. When I went up to do my laundry I stopped at the bank and the card was turned in. It was found in the parking lot of WalMart. My faith in people has been given a big boost. My prayers were answered.
Ginger my cat has given my ggd and my son her full approval. She has set on my son's lap and she doesn't run away and lets my ggd be in the same room with her. My little one has become used to being here. My son can be upstairs and she will stay by me
not like before. She tells me when she wants something. I love it. I think she feels comfortable here. She is close to turning 2yrs old so she can get in to things. My house isn't child proof. LOL What a joy she is.
In the morning we are going to Marquette for my check up. I pray that all the good fortune I have had so far this week continues.

You can't always see whats there

Yesterday afternoon my neighbor called me while she was standing on the side walk in front of my house. She said my "daffys"
were coming up. I still have snow piled in that area. I went outside and sure enough she pointed out this little tiny clump barely breaking ground. My daffys were coming up. Then she asked about my tulips and showed me how they were coming up. This bunch of little nubbins 1/8" high. " See" she said. My tulips are coming up. My day lilies are coming up. I saw one plant that was 3" high. I am not fond of day lilies because they spread so fast.
Her garden plots have a great number of flowers coming up. Her yard has many flowers planted in many spots. Her yard is beautiful.
Her garden is her way to relax and she works at it. Most of the flowers in my yard came from her. Raking and weeding tire me out .

Big Day?

Today I took a big step. Not a usual big step for anyone else but for me it was. I hadn't taken my car more than a mile for months. I have depended on my son or my neighbors to get me places. Yesterday I received notice for license renewal at the cost of $75 and I have kept insurance up. It was time for me to make up my mind. I had spent over 75 dollars for a new battery a short while ago. Was I going to spend more money for a car I didn't use or trust? The car is old and you can only start it one way and you have to warm it up a great deal before you put it in gear. Well today I wanted to get something in a town 20 miles away. I first went to the post office in the car and left it running while I went in; drove home and turned car off. I went back out a little later and the car started so I took off. Not sure where or how far I was comfortable in going. I made it up to the store, I parked the car and went in. When I came out later I said a prayer that i could get the car started and go home. I was hoping it wouldn't die in parking lot when I put it in gear as it had the last time I went up. Stopping in the middle of the road or half way out of a parking spot is scary. It started and didn't stop and I was able to get home.
My fear may seem silly to others but they haven't set in middle of a parking lot. I don't know if its age related but I was afraid.
God answered my prayer.

Help and Language

Hey folks, do any of you have an idea about what I can do with those brown pill bottles? I hate to just put them in the garbage.

Language When I was in grade school we had German classes. In high school I took Latin for two years. ( I was planning on going into some medical field) Didn't go to college but got married instead; moved to Panama and had to learn Spanish. Then when I went back to work I learned Sign language so I could work with a resident of the home I worked at. Now I have very limited knowledge of these languages. I don't use them unless I am angry and don't want everyone to know what I said.
Isn't it amazing what we can learn and then forget so easily.

Where Did It Go

Have you ever had a day you could do without? I have had a few this week. BUT Tuesday afternoon was scarey and funny for a few hours. My son and my ggd were here. In the morning I checked up on the checking account. In the afternoon when I was looking for my checkbook it was no where to be found. I hadn't left the house so where was the book? My son and I tipped over couch,loveseat and my lift chair. We checked cushions,still no book. I checked the garbage since my son once found his phone there. Little ggd has struck again. I checked the bedroom under my bed and by the computer. We checked the bathroom,the appliences everywhere. It has to be here no one has left the house. We searched for over an hour. The day was bad enough without this. Where could this little sweetheart have put it? On the floor of my bedroom closet. I guess God used her to give me something else to think about for a little while.

Peace and Steady

I am making things peaceful with steady footing. When the storm brews around you keep yourself on steady footings and don't try to control things you can't. It's easier on your body and your mind. Be thankful for the good things and try to look for the good in everything. It is always a surprise what we are capable of getting through! Negative thoughts don't go away you just have to not linger on them.

Much ado about nothing

With the few warm days we are having my ski hills(really high snow piles) are going down and the swimming hole is coming back in the front yard. Its the joy of living at the bottom of a hill. Ski hills are still 6 feet high.

Isn't it amazing that my life is so simple I need to blog about the weather.

Great Neighbors

This week my son didn't come up for health reasons. But with below zero wind chill temps I stayed indoors. Last night my neighbor called and said they were going up to Iron Mountain and wondered if I wanted to go along. It was -15 wind chill temp when I got in their car. (nice and warm car) While the husband took the car for oil change wife and I wandered around Wal Mart.
We spent over an hour and I was able to do shopping for some things I needed plus a few groceries. Then there were more errands they needed to run and I went along and looked around. Then they took me to lunch. We went to another store to shop and then headed for home. We stopped at post office so I could check my mail for the first time since Saturday. Neighbors like this make my life so much better. Their warmth makes the cold winter so much better.
This hermit is blessed even when she is in the winter hermit mode.

Waited For & Didn't Get YEA

The TV which is 90 miles south of my house had been warning of a very bad storm coming up from the south with rain, sleet,
freezing drizzle, and deep snow. There was to be winds and fog also. This morning pictures of snow covered roads, and you couldn't even see the road in some parts. We didn't get anything where I live. I am not sad thats for sure. But now they are talking about another storm on Tuesday which is also to be bad. Thats the way we get to spring here. The weather changes and you can't prepare for it except to stay put where you are and only venture out for brief trip when you know you have a half hour time period.
This was a very bad storm and I am sorry for the people that were hurt by it. Will it be our turn on Tuesday? Who knows?

Busy but Happy Day

Today is the birthday of my eldest son. He was born on Ash Wednesday in 1954. I always said I gave up pregnancy for Lent.
My second son came up so i could get things done. He brought up my youngest great granddaughter. He also had pictures for me of my 5 year old great grandson Tailor and picture of Cyrus who was born on January 20th.
I did my laundry. The place was empty so we had a good time and Alexus could show off her great personality. I picked up my meds. I was able to go to bread store and stock up. Then we ate lunch and then my large grocery shopping was done. I was glad to get that all done. It is easier when I have some one to load and unload all the groceries. We checked out Goodwill but all I bought were 2 dolls with crochet dresses for Alexus.
It was a good day but I get tired.

Weather

I dislike the cold and was upset by it until I found out my son is dealing with about 15" of snow by the end of the day. YUK
March is certainly coming in as a lion. I can't wait until it goes out like a lamb.

Funny Things

Funny things happen in one's life. At least you have to laugh so you don't get too upset. My car has been a laugh maker for quite awhile. I finally got it running and winter came back with a vengence. Freezing drizzle and light snow yesterday and so I didn't want to take the car this morning so I walked to the post office. I was almost there when I saw the icy patch. Being very careful I tried walking around it. Naturally I didn't make it- down I went. I managed to get up and finish the trip to and from.
Then this afternoon started the snow. Our county warned people to stay off the roads as they were impassable. Joy Joy.
The good Lord kept me from a bad injury but I know I banged my knee.
I am so glad I canceled those doctor appointments this week. I'm glad I can still see the humor in life's little problems and not get overwhelmed by them.

Car Runs!

I drove to the post office today. Yea!

Good Day & Good Neighbors

First one calls and asked if I would like to go for a ride to store 10 miles away. I said I would love to.
Second one calls and asked if I would like to go up to check on my battery and get new one if I have to.
I called first neighbor and canceled. I explained why.
Second neighbor takes out old battery so we can get it checked. He puts it in the trunk of his car. We go up to WalMart. His wife does her shopping and we go to automotive. Yes the battery is bad. One dead cell. So we go to the shelves and look for a new one. Naturally cheaper ones are gone, I had to get one at the highest price. Typical February thing. Short month but there always seem to be extra bills. When we get back he puts new battery in car. It starts. It is a cold car and I didn't see sitting in car for ten minutes so it would idle without someone in car. We didn't have anywhere else to go. So tomorrow will be the test.
Can I get up,get it started and go. I really hope so.
I also cancelled the appointment I had in Marquette for this coming Thursday.
So I did accomplish some thing today with the help of neighbors.

This and That

Well winter is back in force. This hermit will need to slink back in her hole to stay safe. My car isn't running so I don't have to worry about being on the road.
The bone test says my bones are okey. One son says they break because I am a clutz. I don't argue with that because there are days i feel like a clutz.
Since the doctor had his nurse call and let me know that I cancelled my appointment with him for this week. I'll go see him in a month. I also am going to cancel an appointment I have up in Marquette because it is 100 miles away and it is going to snow.
It is for a check up on my loop recorder(checks heart rythm). I can't say I am fond of appointments in winter or if I don't see any need for them. I know thats not the best attitude but IT'S MINE!
Now for the computer. I am learning how to use this one and get to where I want to get to. There are a few things I haven't got to yet but in time I am sure I will find a way. There are a lot of icons I don't know or understand but I don't have to. I love having enough knowledge to do what I do on this computer. It has allowed me to speak with people all over this world. Sometimes I can let off a little steam when I am upset. I have an angel teddy bear sitting next to my computer to remind me to watch what I say. It has saved people from a few rants.

News

One son sent up a new computer; another son came up and hooked it up for me. He also took me up for a bone test.
He also brought up my wee ones for a brief visit. My grandson also came up. I feel very blessed.
The flu still has me feeling very tired.

Better

I am feeling better. I have no energy but the other bad parts of the flu are gone. I had a flu shot and I am so glad that it helped me not get any sicker than I was. I am being careful so I don't get it back.

Highs and Lows of the week

My one son came up started my car and then we went up to do my wash with 2 of my greatgrands. He showed me a way to get to see some of my messages. I then had the youngest great grand 3 weeks old here for a couple of nights. You start to question What is sleep?
Another son called and told me he had a different computor for me. A newer model. What a joy. I can't believe how much a computor can mean to your life. :o)

Then flu came! It is a good thing that adults can go 24 hours without eating. I am praying that today will be a good day.

Sometimes you just have to laugh!

There are times in life when things are not going right. You just have to laugh and ask what next. My car wasn't running and yesterday it finally was running and I planed to go do laundry today. LOL I had a flat tire. the car hadn't run for almost a month. I figured warmth would help it to run. Battery was dead. Tire was inflated too late for me to go.
My e-mail stopped working and I was up to over 50 messages in my inbox. Today I finally went over to a friend's house and deleted over 40 messages.
So I was sitting in my house with no e-mail , no car waiting for it to warm up so I could check at post office for my mail. I finally walked down to the post office yesterday and got my mail after a week. The mail box had more mail than it has had before.
But at least it is above freezing and if I don't have a flat laundry can get done. To get upset is really useless, at this time the way the world is; my problems are big to only me when I let them be. When you seem to be carrying a heavy load you have to watch out because thats when more trouble will come and get you. There has been a few other problems in my life lately but none I care to share. One day I will look back and think that was a crazy time in my life.

Trouble???

Well my computer is old like me and now the e-mail part is acting up. So just like me it has to change some of its functions.
My address and phone book has disappeared and now I don't have ready access to my kids. I moved all the furniture in my living room. My back let me know that I shouldn't have done it but today it isn't hurting as bad. Would you like someone to look under your couches? I was pleasently surprised by the lack of things under them. I found more under my lift chair.
This to will pass.

Todays Good things

My son came up today and I spent time with my 2 youngest greatgrands. Cyrus and Alexus. We went and bought some things to help with keeping my house warm. While Bob put weatherstriping around my front door I spent time with the little ones. He could only put plastic on two of the front windows because there wasn't enough tape. He had to leave before it got to dark and the roads became slippery. While he was here it was good.

Cabin Fever

I have definately got it. Computor is acting up and I can't send messages out or reply to any. I just lurk around the blogs. I am getting tired of below zero temperatures. And final straw the weird dreams. Last night I dreamed that I was given this
2 1/2 inch onion to plant in Oprah's garden. That size you harvest not plant. The ground was all worked up and soft for about 2 feet down. I pushed it down so hard that I pealed the skin off of it. But I let it stay and started to look for a small pepper plant to fill the space I was given. But I woke up then. Dream makes no sense and is only good for a laugh!

Can you figure this?

Yesterday my sister had 88 degrees at 4pm. Today at 7am I have -8 degrees. That is 96 degrees difference. With wind chill we would have a difference of way over 100 degrees.

Careful What You Wish For

You may get it! You will also get all the problems that go with it and some you couldn't even vision. That is where I am at now. Having a home to call your own-a place of quiet peace and contemplation does not always stay that way. Oh well, I am here now and will make the best of it without saying another word.

What a Day

Well when it rains it pours. With all that is going on they came to work on the house. It was not a problem free fix. I am getting a lesson in quiet prayer and calm demeaner. After this day I will really sleep tonight. They are still working on the house and I have somewhat of a mess to clean up and I shall after they leave. Have a great blessed day.

Cyrus

Well he is here! I talked to my granddaughter-MOM. She said she was okey. My son was holding the baby. I don't know where they came up with the name Cyrus but I have nothing to say about names. He weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces. I hope to get more info later. A prayer answered!!!

Importance?

Every one is talking about the importance of tomorrow and what is happening in Washington DC. NOT ME!
I am thinking about what is going to happen around 7:30 in the morning in a hospital in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin.
My 6th greatgrandchild is coming by way of a "C section". I am concerned about this little guy and I will be that way until my son calls and lets me know everything is okey.

Amazing story.

Since it hasn't been above zero for the last few days I have been staying in the house. Yesterday afternoon a plane with over 150 people on board landed in the Hudson River. It was without power because some birds hit the engines of the plane.
The pilot did a perfect landing at a perfect place. Ferrys were there in minutes. The people were wet but were standing on the wings of the plane. Afew were in the water. The plane was surounded by ferrys,coast guard,fire boats all helping in the rescues. Everyone survived. The pilot is being called a hero. Naturally this is the story of the morning.
Can you see God's hand in this? The perfect time of day,the water very smooth and plenty boats available. The pilot known for his knowledge of safety in flight.
God had it all worked out!

At this moment it is -13 here. It may get up above zero today but with wind it is not going to be to good. I went out this morning with my garbage bag and things for recycle. If they can come and get it I can get it outside. Otherwise I will have to wait 2 weeks. Don't want to keep it that long.

Liver and onions

Tonight my neighbor sent over a plate of hot liver and onions. She knows how much I like it. What a surprise! It was gone in less than5 minutes.

Expectations

Sometimes things don't go like you expect or want them to. Thats what has happen in my life lately. My attitude is not what it should be so I am being quiet-no smarting off or crabing on my blog. Thats not why I have it and you don't deserve it.

Greatgrandma's Joy

Today my son came up and had my 18 month old greatgranddaughter with him. What fun! While I was doing my wash she played at laundramat. She didn't whine but kept herself entertained. When we ate lunch, it was fun just to watch her eat mac and cheese. She used that fork pretty darn well. She is a happy child. I was able to get somethings I needed to do done.
At the mall she walked and smiled at everyone. She saw a little girl and walked over and wanted to play.
Not to sure what we are going to do tomorrow but I am sure I will enjoy it. There are a few things I would like my son to do for me.

Early Morning Joy

There are mornings when we wake up and we are barely functioning and others when we are ready to conquer the world.
Then there are mornings like this morning!! Up just before 5, rush to the bathroom,(don't be shocked-we all do) and then return to your bed. The room is dark and you hope to take alittle nap. LOL Something is wrong, your window doesn't look right. You try to focus in the dark but no luck. On goes the light,the insulation on the window is half off hanging down by a strip of duct tape! Can you believe it? You know you can't leave it like that. Oh well, sleep is over rated. Get the step stool,more duct tape,sissors. Say a quick prayer for safety and go to it. Don't we all make repairs a little after 5 in the morning. Move things out of the way so you can get to the window and repair the best you can. Dollar Store duct tape is not as good as others but this is what you have- so use it. The window is covered and now you can rest-OH Sure! Put things away and turn on the computor. Check your e-mails! Oh good, you have a winter storm message and then you see two messages from a friend. Oh well, it is 6 and sleep will not come now. Blog the start of your day and then forget it.

Football and Parade

It will be football and parades for the next few days. The colleges have such energy and are wanting to win. Their games are so much more interesting to watch than the pros. At least for me. The pros have become so much more business like. When coaches get fired left and right and go from team to team YUK! It is no longer the game its the dollar. The behavior of some of the players astound me. Are they idiots or don't they have any idea of right and wrong?

The Rose Parade is one of my favorites. It shows the beauty of God's work. All the things on those floats are things that God put on this earth. I can get my flowers for the year just by watching that parade.

We Made It.

Another Christmas is over and we are in the last week of 2008. For me it is a time to reflect: what I did right and what I did wrong. Not put it in writing though. I am not sure I would like the length of wrongs to be seen by everyone. And when I think back don't get angry all over again about things I have no control over. Pray harder on some and some just forget about.
Thank God for allowing me to be around yet. I remember when 75 seemed ancient.
Thank God for my family-the good parts and the bad parts.
Thank God for my friends and neighbors.
Thank God for my church. The pastor has a way of getting to me more than any of the previous pastors. No details given out!
There are more things but these are the most important. Of cource, the country and those brave troops can't be forgotten.
Come on 2009! I am waiting for you.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all. I hope God will be glorified by our observes of His Son's birthday. Christmas is a wonderful time of year-not the decorations or gifts but the GIFT of all gifts.

Whoopee!!!!!

After dealing with 6 different doctors this year I am finally done for 2008. I am relieved to say no more this year. I can see how people start to feel they have to see a doctor for everything. I don't want to and think back when we didn't have all the tests and different doctors. The appointments in 2009 have already started to be set up. I wish I could turn my back on all of them. I am 75 years old-Iam not brand new by any stretch of imagination. Not all parts work as well as they did but isn't that life.

The season

I have had a great season so far. I have had the CHRISTmas spirit so far. I have had about 10 to 12 young people in my front room singing CHRISTmas carols. They brought in snow and one young lady was upset. I asked her "What is snow?" It is water and it will dry. Don't worry about it. They sang about six songs and gave me a tin of home made cookies and a card.
Such Fun!
My front room is decorated. One table has a creche set with a farm building and the shepardand his sheep,the farmer and cows and donkeys, and the three kings. Of cource there is Mary,Joseph, and Jesus. Jesus was missing from the set and I had to go looking for one. Found Him. (Hint Hint-not a bad thing to search for) I have another table with white ceramic creche,Mary, Joseph and Jesus. A angel that is about 12" tall holding a white candle. A tree that lights up with clear doves.
The whole set in the white ceramic is so beautiful. One window has a small green ceramic decorated tree. Another window has a basket like tree all decorated with a red cardinal on top. And my third window has a 32" fiber optic tree in it. I have a 32" snow man standing in my front room. Made of wood leaning up against a welcome sign. My front door has a plastic tree hanging on it.
Sunday I was picked up for church. Many of the young people did do something. When the little ones sing or play an instrument it is so great. What a blessing. Then I stayed for Pot Luck lunch. I was amazed by the amount of food and the good company. I usually don't do pot lucks as I am not comfortable with them.
Now back to reality. Yesterday I was sweeping snow off my porch and steps and I broke the handle in half. Now it will be a short broom to carry in the car. I walked into the kitchen this morning and my cat Ginger had dumped the garbage over.
Coffee grounds,orange peal,plus; so short or not the floor had to be swept.

USO Show

Tonight I watched Trace Atkins (not sure of spelling) in a USO show over in Iraq and Afganistan. There were a few differences in this show. The girls wern't beauties there for show: they were military fighting like the men. I can remember Bob Hope's shows during the Vietnam War. And all I can say is WHY? Will it ever end? Will we ever learn? Thank God we have people that are willing to fight. But why do we have to have them? Years ago Bob Hope prayed that he could stop doing this type of show . And when he ended a show he would say maybe next year I will be able to stay home. This show has really affected me. I'm glad the USO is around but wish it wasn't needed.

Award

Sarah has seen fit to give me an award for my blog. I can't fulfill the rules of the award so I beg her forgiveness. I thought it was very nice of her. I enjoy her tales of England,her family and her love of God. She also likes funny cat pictures. I just have a funny cat Ginger. Blogging has given me a chance to express myself and to make friends from all over.

Brrrrr

The temp right now is -11 degrees. I am so glad that I can stay in my house and my bedroom windows are fixed.
The only warmth now is in my thoughts of friends and family. Anything that needs to be done outside of the house isn't going to get done. I may climb on furniture but I won't go outside on a day like today. Have a great week.

Week end

Weather ended my great weekend. We had combination snow and freezing rain this morning and tomorrow wind chill is going to be 15-20 below zero. And tomorrow my youngest great grandchild would be coming up here. No little one should be out in those temperatures and I sure wasn't going to be out in it. So my son and my great grandson went home this morning. It didn't make sense for my son to drive home and get Alexus today and come back here. Thats over 160 miles round trip in less than good driving conditions.
There were plans to get my blood work done and a few other things but not in that weather. We had such a good time friday and saturday and we did alot of things that needed to be done. Friday started out by going to the post office to get my mail. Joy Joy I got my property tax bill. Not the best start. I went and did my laundry and little Robert was so good. I went an got refills of a couple of my meds and did some shopping. I went to visit a new store that I wanted to see. Where I wanted to go we went. Then we called it quits because Robert and I were tired. Saturday was another day. Go to the store for another refill, get the makings for cookies for Robert and I to make for him to take home to his mom. More fun!!! My son worked on covering my bedroom windows with insulation. He didn't need a ladder and he moved the whole computor table and all.
I hadn't seen little Robert for months and was amazed how good he was . I wanted more time with him and would have loved to have the little girl up here to. I was sad when they left but I had two good great days.

Expectations

Well it looks like I may have an interesting weekend. My son is coming up and bringing my youngest greatgrandson to stay for a couple of days. Right now it is zero degrees outside and it will be difficult to go places with that temperature so hopefully it will warm up. Of course we will be in my son's vehicle and it will be warmed up before we get in it. But we still have to go from place to place. I have some Christmas decorations out that I will have to move before they get here. A four year old can't understand why he can't touch when it is right where he plays. Have a great week end. Needs vs Caution

My ladder story seemed to worry some of my blog friends. I was as carefull as I could be and still get the job done. I can't depend on my family to come up and help me everytime there is a need. I will always try to solve a problem before I ask for help. If I can't solve it; I first think does it have to be solved or is there an easy way to solve it. Many problems go away since I can't solve them . They go to limbo. They can sit there for years.
Asking for help is very hard for me. At church I was asked if I have a need and someone volunteered to drive me to a apointment to have my heart loop recorder checked. I was very greatful and Monday I am going to get a ride to the eye doctor. See I can accept some help but there are so many people in church with needs much bigger than mine and I feel guilty when I ask for help.
I know I am 75 and can't do all the things I want to but I made it through this year with a retina problem, abroken wrist, and a broken foot. I have changed my life alot but I won't give in or give up any more than I have to. God is watching over me and I might give Him a few bad moments but He is with me.
I am sleeping much better and not buried under blankets or wearing lots of clothes to sleep in.

Strange Days

The last few days the wind has been very strong. Sunday eve when I was in bed I could feel a cold breeze on my face. The neighbors Christmas lights were making my bedroom lit up also. So Monday I started out with a plan. The first thing I did was put my electric blanket in opposit direction-head to foot. Easy fix. The next thing was to cover my windows with blue blankets. Thats when the fun began! I got my two step ladder and was ready to go or at least I thought I was ready to go.
I couldn't reach the windows so I tried to step onto computor table- wrong! It started to give out. Quick get off. Went to the other window which wasn't blocked. Step ladder and blanket to the ready but the drapes had to come off before the blanket could go on. Stopped took the drapes off and put the blanket up. Drapes sitting on the floor in a pile. Off to the other window behind the computer. What was I going to do? Oh, the bed side small 3 drawer dresser. Cleaned off the top of it and got the step ladder and blanket again. Oh the drapes, had to stretch and pull them off. Did it! some more lying on the floor in a pile. Climb the step ladder over the top rail onto the night stand-big stretch and got that blanket up on the window. Now the trick is to get down! LOL Didnot want to step backwards over the bar to the ladder so I took to my bed. One foot on the bed and then I fell. Soft landing onto the bed. Put the things back on the dresser and folded the drapes. Now I have a dark bedroom. Only have to sleep in different direction-no problem right-wrong! Wake up at 2:30 a.m. and have to think how do I get out of the bed in this dark bed room and get to the bathroom. This has been my room for 30 + years and some little changes had me for a minute. See little things are important!

Banana Belt ? and Ramblings

100 miles north of where I live they have had about 2 feet of snow-10 in one storm.
100 miles south they have had about 4 inches.
200 miles south are supposed to get 7 inches tonight.
Now where I live I have seen snow covered grass once. Today the road is white but the snow is not much.
So I live in a section of the country that has gotten down to single digets but not much snow.
I am not complaining but it does seem strange.
Life is a little boring when you start comparing snow amounts.
With all the bombings and killings, it makes you wonder how come your so blessed.
I think of small things and take pleasure in them. Phone calls and pictures from my family.
Am I wrong for enjoying the small things? Surely I am not expected to dwell on all the bad news-I feel it but am not able to change it.

Thanksgiving Time

I love this holiday! It makes you think of things you are thankful for. Even when things are not the way you would like them to be, you think of the good things in your life. I think everyone can find some things to be thankful for. I wish this holidday would go world wide. But just think about having to think of something good. For a brief time people would feel better. The little things would become important.

If you are alive and breathing you have something to be thankful for.

Strange mood

I am really in a strange mood the last few days and I am wondering if others have felt this way and how they handled it.
I look at my closet and see things that I am not wearing and probably won't wear and I just want to get a bag and fill it it up.
Of cource it is strange things like my mother's mink coat and a coat that I got from someone in the 40s. It had a cloth outside with moutan fur inside. My late mother in law made me a new cloth outside for it many years ago. Now why do I have it still. Memories-the woman that gave it to me became a woman marine in ww2. The dress I wore to my son's wedding is another piece. I do have some old clothes but I wear them. It just seems that my closet is not the only place that needs to be emptied. My sons have things that could go and if not out, at least to their house. Have I been watching too much HGTV?
Please don't suggest a rumage sale because I couldn't handle it. There are my colections -cows,angels and stuffed toys that I can't get rid of. I don't know how long some of these things will remain in my house.

Scam Alert

Today I received a message that my e-mail Id had won $ 250,000 Great Britain Pounds Sterling. To claim it I was to send all my information to an E-mail address. I am not LOL I am angry. It just seems that people don't think we know enough not to reply and give out our idenity.
What you get for nothing is nothing. Don't fall for these scams. Times are tough but this will not make it better.

This and that

Well I had the propane tank filled today. I always say nothing could shock me BUT was I wrong. I didn't have any idea how high the price had gone. Budget payments are the only way I could manage.
I had a call from the heart doctor's nurse. There will be another med change. I had a med change when I saw my regular doctor and now I am off the pill my heart doctor wants me to double up on. Fun and games when your doctors are miles apart. I will just wait for another call.
There has been strange news stories in the last few days. An 8 year old boy being charge with the murder of his father and someone else. A 90 year old woman found to be living with the bodies of her dead siblings in her home. Natural deaths but one was dead for quite some years. So sad!

A beginning

Well, we have had the election. Now we get to see what will happen. It is a turning around a bend in the road not knowing what is coming up. Can I change what happens-No. My life is pretty well set but the younger people will have a chance to change things. I am going to sit back and watch.

Today I was #13 to vote. I was home from voting by 7:10.a.m.. Now that I have that done the day is mine!

Election Day

Tomorrow is election day. Every election is important; but this one has historical meaning. The first woman and the first black man wanting to be elected. Voting for your choice is not only a right but a duty. There are places where you can't vote for your choice. The right to vote has not been easily won. People have suffered and some died to get that right. You hear good and bad about the candidates. It all depends on who you listen to. The president isn't the only thing we need to vote for tomorrow.
VOTE YOUR CHOICE! No one needs to know who you voted for but be proud to say you voted.

Good News

I am so happy! and for a few reasons.
I received an e-mail from my sister! She is home. Still weak but said the good Lord sent her back twice so there must be something she still needs to do here on earth.
My one son who came up and insulated with foam around my windows called and asked how it was working. I didn't have much to say BUT when I went to bed last night it dawned on me- I am not feeling a breeze from the window . I can face away from the wall. Its strange how when things are better you don't always realize it; you just enjoy.
I am getting fuel assistance and a check has been sent to the company that provides my propane. When you get some help paying the heating bill it is nice. More food on the table and less covering while sitting in the chair in the front room.
My friend thats having a problem with her blood pressure may have finally gotten some answers and how to get better.
I hopefully can go downstairs in my basement and straighten it some more now that a load of junk went to refuse place.
Still need to pray for another friend with medical problems.
But I have had a good week and I am so thankful.

Updates

Monday I went up to Marquette Mi. for a check up on my heart monitor. I had a few spells that they could see but when the tech took the results to the cardiologist he said that he wasn't to concerned? The tech said he was going to show the doctor that put in the monitor and he might get in touch with me for a change in my meds. Oh well! On monday during that trip of 96.5 miles each way we saw rain,snow,fog and bright sunlight. The roads were wet and dry but had nothing staying on the roads. It was amazing how many changes and how fast they came. I was driven up there by a wonderful lady from church and her delightful 6 year old daughter.
My sister is supposed to come home today from the nursing home. That is for sure answered prayer! May she get backher strength fast.
Today my son is supposed to come up with my little greatgranddaughter. she is 15 months old now. We are going to clean up part of the basement and get it taken to the refuse place. I guess I should say he is going to clean up. Not me! I am only good to be a supervisor with this wrist.
So my life is going on with a few chances in the last few days to help a friend who was having blood pressure problems and needed my help.
On Monday little Esther said thats what friends are for helping each other.

Fun Time

This afternoon two girls from Northland Baptist College came for a visit. What fun! Their youth and niceness(is that a word?) made for good company. I enjoyed the time we spent together.

Frustration

It amazes me how I can go from being so blessed to so frustrated when something doesn't go right. The good Lord has some work to do with me. I am a very fortunate woman and there are so many people that have more to deal with than me.
BUT I fail when things are not right or at least what I think are not right. I know I lost alot of tolerence for "normal people" when I worked with development disabled and saw what they could do and how they acted compared to the "NP".
That isn't an excuse. Is it my age? Am I just losing my ability to fight the fight or walk the walk?
Know this I am trying to improve and with God's help I will.

Feelings

For a number of reasons I am feeling very fortunate this evening. With so much going wrong and so many suffering, my life is blessed. I don't care to give all the reasons but rest assured I am a happy person this evening. I hope I never forget my good fortune when things go wrong. Like tonight when I came home I missed the driveway and one of the wheels of my car hit the ditch but I was able to keep driving and when I moved the car after unloading groceries the car seemed fine. Tomorrow when I take it to garage for oil change I will be able to check.
Today I had my mammogram and ladies I hope you get yours if you are supposed to. That is the one test I am prompt about taking. I know too many woman who have had breast cancer. Some alive and some not. : o )

Update

My sister has left the hospital and gone to a nursing home for rehab. It is closer to her home and her husband can drive the car that far to see her. With both of them it is best-Bob has got to do for himself more and Betty can see him doing well and not worry about him and concentrate on getting well. It makes me so thankful that they both are getting better and reminds me that my troubles are not that bad regardless of what happens to me.

Good News

My sister is out of ICU- She has had the surgery and is doing good. God is so Good. He does answer prayer.

Waiting

Today I had to go to the doctor's office for blood work. I went early for two reasons. One because I was fasting and two because I wanted to get back home as soon as possible. They were starting a new system within the lab.
It was amazing how different people can act. Most just waited but a few got very upset. It didn't make things go faster. The staff are very good at seeing first come first served.
Update: My sister is still in ICU but the infection is gone. She was so sure that pacemaker would go in today but she is waiting to.
The trip up was beautiful. The colorful trees mixed in with the pines makes for such a pretty picture. Living in the country in a small town and having forest all around is great.

God's Gifts

My sister is still with us. Still in ICU waiting for the infection to be healed so they can do the pacemaker operation.
We are having beautiful weather and we can see the beautiful color all around us. There is a spot about 10 miles from here that has an open vista with such beautiful color. Going north or going south you are blessed with beautiful color.
Gas has gone down.
These are all gifts; after the hectic last couple of weeks lets not forget to thank God for the things around us. We have many wants and needs but God is good and lets not forget it.

Same-0h Same-oh

That was my usual answer when someone asked me how things were going. This week isn't that way at all. I was upset because something I am expecting isn't comingand may not come at all even after a promise that it would. I was not feeling well on Sunday and actual pain caused tears fell. I"m better now. Then came Tuesday: My nephew called and said my sister was in the hospital and they almost lost her. There was a doctor in the room talking to her when she suddenly turned toward her son- eyes rolled back into her head - her mouth opened wide and the heart moniter alarm went off. The doctor called for the crash cart. I don't know how long she was gone but she did come back and is in ICU now. They are talking about a pacemaker being put in when she is better. She hasa problem that needs to be taken care of before they can give her the pacemaker.
So no more same-oh same-oh. I am concerned about my sister. Her husband went home from the hospital on Wednesday but she won't be there to take care of him and he will have to start taking care of himself. I am still disappointed with my problems but theydon't compare to what is going on in Texas so far away.

Another Four Generation Time

This is not just a repeat of the other 4 gen. days. Yesterday when my son,my gs, and my ggd it wasn't just a visit it was work time. A part of the kitchen ceiling that hasn't been right except for 2 days a few years back was tiled. It had been once before but a bad storm came and the tile was removed. It has been there since 1976 when I bought the house. New roof new windows new siding didn't solve the problem but it is now. How does one live with a hole in the ceiling for over 30 years? I just did what I had to. I will be a little fearful when we have a bad storm but for now it is fixed.
I had a leaky faucet-drip drip. Destroyed the floor under the sink. I now have a new stainless faucet and new sink. My floor under the sink has been cover with some plywood.
The 1/2 inch wood trim around the ceiling has been put up. Needless to say I am not a repair person and I can't always find someone to work on my house. But I live in it because it is mine and I love it. So you can see this wasn't the usual visit.
My 14 month old greatgrand daughter seems to have grown a great deal since I last saw her. Walking all around, eating regular food. Getting in the way when everything is torn up but giving us a smile. She is content to play by herself. We were eating lunch out yesterday when a woman came in with her 17 month old son. Alexus start jabbering right away. These two little ones were solving the problems of the world. It was so great to see.
It was a good time yesterday and today before they left. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Work day

Well today I got up early and drove the 20 miles so I could get my wash done. I was down to a few pieces to wear and it needed to be done. Turning undies insideout so they can be worn again does not appeal to me. After doing the laundry I picked up some groceries. I was home complely worn out but the laundry and shopping are done. PTL I wonder if the pastor's sermon on sunday about working and the rest will come rubbed off more than I realized.
Have a great week. Continue to pray for this country and the election. The discussion in the laundramat was fairly hot this morning.

Small Town USA

This morning I saw small town USA at its best. The school was having its homecoming parade. The men of the American Legion started the parade with carring of the colors. The fire trucks, the rescue squads had their sirens blaring. The school band was marching and playing. The girls from 4H marched. Each class of the high school had a float. There was a crowd watching. The kids were watching waiting to catch the candy being thrown from the vehicles. Cars were parked in a parking lot so they could get a good view. It was nice for the sick and elderly to see while in the comfort of their cars. People lined the streets watching the parade. From infants to elderly out there watching the parade. One fire truck had two dogs in the front seat as if they were driving, another had very young children sitting on their dad's lap in drivers seat. It was going to rain but it held off till the parade was over and people had about 15 minutes to get home. It was a small parade but it had a big spirit and was enjoyable. With all that is going on in this country now its great to have alittle rest and be small town.

Political E-mail

Every one has a right to vote as they want in a secret ballot. But I have been getting alot of e-mails that blow my mind.
I will be glad when this election is over. The election process is getting disgusting and not what this country should have.
With all the technology they have ruined the election process. It keeps getting worse. Never has so much untruth been put out and how they put a "spin" on everything.
Don't let this slime keep you from voting. Pray that the millions of dollars being spent will start going not to ads but to the people that could use the help. With the storms and the forclosures, to blow needed funds on smear and spin is wrong.

Weekend

A little over 30 years ago my neighbor had a beautiful daughter. One day I picked her up and this sweet little baby stuck her finger in my eye and scratched it. This meant wearing a patch on my eye and if I didn't there was pain. What does this have to do with the weekend?
Saturday , my son John,his wife Rebecca and I went to this girl's wedding. It was outside in a park on the shore of Lake Michigan in Escanaba , Michigan. They had it by the band shell. So the seating was all set up. The bride's father set up a tent so the bride and her attendents could not be seen until she walked down the aisle. The weather was even nicer than was forcasted. The parents had colored sand (brown &blue) which they placed in a glass candle holder instead of a candle.
The two flower girls spread rose petals were dressed in brown dresses with blue sashes. The attendents wore beautiful blue dresses. The men were in brown tux. The bride had a blue band at the top of her dress and blue and white lacing down the back of her gown. The service was beautiful. When Karen and Mike walked back the aisle they were treated with bubbles from containers that everyone got. The containers were even trimed with blue and brown tiny ribbons. It was beautiful.
At the reception there was a small net bag with blue and brown m&ms with a little tag saying thank you. The cake was frosted in brown and blue. It was a great day.
We left and drove the hour home happy but tired. My son drove and he and his wife saw 3 deer along side the road. I only saw the last one. He was just about in the road. We were in the country and it was dark. But the good Lord kept us safe.

Done It

Although I can't believe it I have reached 75. It seems soo old and yet when things are going right I don't feel that old.
And unfortunately I don't always act that old. But one thing I do relish- I have reached an age where I feel I can have an opinion and voice it. My foot is in my mouth once in awhile and I eat shoe leather but I am willing to do it. I have tried to keep this blog moderate and not hostile. So everyone have a good week and God Bless.

The Foot

Well the doctor said it looks like the 5 days of antibiotics I have left should clear the infection I have. It is going to take time for the break in my foot to heal. I have to be careful the way I walk. But at least I don't have to sit all the time. God does protect us.

The Foot

Well there is a break but it is one of those that has to heal on its own. The biggest problem is the infection I have in my foot.
I have to keep it elevated ice it and take anti biotics. Stay off my foot and as little walking around as posible. I have to go back to doctor on Monday. Oh Joy. I think I should just think about how bad it could have been. I am being watched over with all I had happen in the last few months.

Sitting

Needless to say I have done enough sitting these last few days. I am seeing things i wish were done in my house and there are a few places I would like to go but i can't. I had a couple of calls from greatgrands and that helps,BUT It is getting to me.
I can't do too much reading and I can't watch TV. Hopefully this foot will heal and I will join the human race.

Greatgrand

This day started out with a call from my oldest son and my oldest greatgranddaughter. Whenever Amanda calls she says "Grandpa being Sassy". Today I asked if she was sassy and I heard a very fast" no." My son said she asked to call me. This way I talk to my son and my greatgrand. I told her that she should ask grandpa for a hug and I heard her say it to my son. I hope she got her hug. There isn't alot of needed conversation but the love flows through the call.
