Memorial Day

This is a day of remembrance and a day to honor the people that gave the ultimate for us. But I have a request that we honor the ones that came home hurt and broken. I also think we should honor the families that have given so much. Too many to honor? I don't think so.

Well these pills haven't done any better. I am getting upset but I know that doesn't help.
We will just have to try something else. Joy Joy.

Changes

Today my doctor changed three of my meds. Stop three and start three different ones. I am a difficult patient I guess. It isn't what I want to be but I am. We will see what we see. The doctor is working hard with and for me.

Strange Mix of Days

This is quite a week. The weather is crazy, temp changes maxed. What can happen in weather is happening. You have to feel bad for the people dealing with it. So many people interested in the wedding on Friday. The news can be good or bad just depends on what part of it your interested in. I am sitting back and letting what happens happen. I've decided that there is little I can affect except when it pertains to me personally. Hope you all have the best possible days ahead. There is a plan and we have to remember that.

Sad Day Today

Today is a sad day for me as I say good bye to a dear friend. It will be sad for her family also but Ionne is in a much better place than we are. She is in heaven and she has her mom who just arrived up there less than a month ago and her good friend Robin who has been there for a short time longer. To see Jesus face to face, how can we be sad for Ionne? RIP friend.

Spring???

It is 25F right now. My neighbors irises are up a good four inches and they say chance of snow fluries tomorrow night. Good old Wisconsin weather leaves you guessing as seasons change.

RIP

Ionne, You left so quickly shocking your family and me. You were a great woman that loved her family but still had love for others. Your children and grandchildren were blessed by you. Ed and you were making plans for camping this summer. Your family and friends were looking forward to doing it. YOU WILL BE MISSED!

Spring Day

This morning I expected to see rain or snow when I awoke. But I saw a beautiful bright sunrise.
Of course it is snowing pretty good now. But that sunrise can't be taken away from me. I haven't seen too many lately maybe that is why this seemed so beautiful.

But what a way to start a new week.

Life Goes On

In the last few weeks I have been dealing with a large number of sickness of family and deaths of friends and in family of friends. It makes you thankful for the skill of some doctors and the power of that dreadful Cancer in others. But we go on thankful for the people that were helped and saved. And for some their suffering is over. God's plan is at work and we can't always understand. But we can't give up, just have faith and go on.

Weather Important?

When you are retired as long as I have been you tend not to be too worried about the weather in your area. You don't need to leave the comfort of your home. As long as you have heat and food you sit smugly and let it pass.

But lately the weather has been something to think about as it has affected millions of people in many places. Near and far people have suffered. I haven't had family hurt by it that I know of.
As I listen to the snow plow outside I have to conclude that weather is important.

STAY SAFE!

Life Goes On

No one has a perfect life and what is going on around you and in this world may not be to your liking but rise above it. Some people will never change, some battles will never be won and politics will continue to mess up. Take the good days and enjoy them. Bad days only last 24 hours. Pray and get on with it.
MY SPEECH FOR THE DAY!

Winter Is Back

The snow is coming down covering up all the roads and grass . I suspect it is going to be a little messy around here. My mind says its winter but my heart says I want warmth and sun. This is the worst part of the year cold warm wet dry. The makings of sickness and bad attitudes. I will survive but I wish I didn't have to put up with it.

Time Passes

Well another month is almost over. It hasn't been the most peaceful month even though it is the shortest. But a new month with new things to think about and a chance to change some of last months failures. A change in temperatures and weather conditions for the better would be possible. We can only hope and pray. A little more daylight with more time to be outside can only be an improvement.

Politics At Its Worse

Right now the state of Wisconsin is seeing politics at its worse. No one is listening to the other side. I'm ashamed of the elected men and women and I wish I could treat them like I did my sons when they were young. Send them all to bed and make them stay there until they can act like they had sense. People from the outside are coming to the state. None are without faults.

Cradle

Yesterday while checking thrift shops I saw a old wooden cradle. It had a gentle rocking motion and a solid mattress covered in brown material. I loved it and thought what a shame it was there.
To me it represented love and caring for a baby. Not fancy,no net, no metal, no bright paint just comfort and safety. But it seems today that old things don't mean much. You have to be modern colorful and not necessarily safe. It has to wind up and rock or swing automatic. Many don't seem to have the time to gently rock a baby.
Old and elderly don't get the respect they used to get. Now to get respect you have to go along with the ways of the young. They made it this far and they know what is right for them. The fact that we made it that far awhile ago doesn't enter their minds. We know of pit falls they can't even know exist.

Valentines Day

I hope everyone with someone there close to let them know it today. Those three little words do mean alot. In this world it is a shame we need a day so people can say it without feeling strange. We need more love expressed in this world.

Super Bowl

Well, the Packers won. I am happy for the team. And I am happy for the city of Green Bay. This is one of the smallest cities but there is a history with the team and Chicago Bears in the very beginning of the football league. It is still a business and I don't always like that part of it.
