How I Spend a Day

Today was quiet. Went to check mail, made pot of soup,watched college basketball and got the garbage set to go out tomorrow morning. See QUIET.

Update

I am fine. Just have been quiet because my life is quiet usually in winter. Nothing exciting -just life going on. Some good days,some bad days just life. No need to worry!

White Is The Color

Everything is covered with a few inches of white snow. Freezing rain followed by snow has the trees and everything else covered. It is beautiful to see but not safe to leave house. Schools closed,roads not plowed. I can see the beauty but I feel sorry for the people that have to go out in this.

"ME" Morning

This morning was a "Me" morning. I stayed in bed. I didn't care what was going on in the world or around here. Didn't care if it was time to take my pills or feed my cat. Didn't care what was on facebook. When I heard my neighbors leave for work didn't care I stayed in bed. When the phone rang I didn't care. But when I looked at the time I decided to get up. Usually my son and I talk on facebook early in morning so I figured I better let him know I was still around but had just loss my get up and go. Its around here somewhere but I still don't care too much to look for it.

Family Time

I had a great weekend. I saw brother helping brother and the two doing things together. I sat at kitchen table playing a game. No rush to watch TV or go on computer. Just being together. My four sons and I have not been together in over 10 years. I realize what I am missing living alone for over 25 years. I must say I have a little longing for old fashion family time without electronics. I would like to see my sons all together with the wives included just talking and playing a game. I must really be getting old.

Great Day

After having a good nights rest I had some "get up and go"so I did. Went up to the place I retired from 18 years ago for a visit. Then went and did my laundry. Had some lunch and then went and did grocery shopping. Dragged my body to the car to head home but was detoured by an accident and road closure. So I went the long way home and stopped at second hand store. When I made it home there was a message from my grand daughter. So glad to hear from her. Now I am tired but thankful for the ability to do all that I did. (Not bragging just happy)

She is going to be okay. They were able to fix the problem. Praise the Lord!

Life Isn't Always Fair

Things happen and you don't know why. Prayer is all you have. My grand daughter who is only 26 years old is going to have heart surgery on Monday. My nephew fell and broke his hip and he had surgery this week.

Good Start of 2012 &Good End of2011

My day started out very cold below zero degrees. I was a little worried if my car would run and I had 1p.m. appointment for oil change. I was not going to try to start it until later and temperature up. When time came I went out and had no problem getting it started. I stopped at post office and when I started to go to oil change, brake light came on for a second and went out right away. When man started he discovered a broken brake line which was leaking brake fluid. All I could think was what if I had gone to do my wash. God's protection was working.

Since it was so cold I decided to fix a small pot of "fridge" soup. Had good left overs in the fridge and it made a great soup. I also finished filing all my bills for last year.
Last week I was fortunate to have visits from two of my sons and their wives. I also went to see another son and his wife with one of my sons. I also had a grand daughter and a great grand daughter along.

New Year

Happy New Year to all. I am looking forward to the New Year with hope and prayers. May God Bless you all.

What Is The Weather Going To Be

Up here you never know. This a.m. I needed to run to do my laundry and to pick up two meds. It was something this morning. I started the trip in drizzle,then a down pour,then a mix of flakes and rain. While doing my laundry the snow came down and when the laundry was done everything was covered white. The roads were fine and I headed home. It has gotten colder all day. I am so glad I did my work early this morning.

Merry Christmas

Life has it's trials and tribulations but we make it through. We need this time to be merry and put problems on the back burner. I know God has the plan.

Christmas Gifts

All I want for Christmas is four phone calls. One from each of my sons. I really feel I have all that I need.

Media News

Tonight I checked a news media and I can't believe why some of this is coming into my home. I wanted to check the news not all the junk that was on my computer. I was overwhelmed by the trash that made this news station. I know that I don't think it is important. It was better when some things were private. Guess I am getting too old to like all the crude that is out there.

Christmas Time

With so much sadness and needs in the world around us,we sometimes forget the GIFT we were given 2000 years ago. It is a gift that everyone can receive. Praise the Lord.

Guardian Angel Alive and Well

Well, I robbed Peter to pay Paul so my furnace could be fixed. Yesterday I received a Christmas card that wasn't signed with a great deal of money in almost the full amount of my bill. I don't know who to thank but God works in many ways. I hope I am person worthy of this wonderful gift I find it hard to think so.

Furnace ???

Well it is running for now. Needs a part to fix it so I won't have to worry when it will stop again. Have you ever heard the old expression "robbing Peter to pay Paul"? I am looking for my Peter to rob. Don't like the uncertain nature of my heat. Life goes on.

Furnace Not Working

Well, life has given me another thing to deal with. My furnace isn't working and there isn't more that can be done tonight. So I will be under electric blanket fully clothed tonight. I don't like space heaters. There are a great number of people outside in the cold without a roof over their head so I am in my house,could light my oven if I get too cold in the morning. Hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow.

Hard Day Into Easy Day

Yesterday was a busy day for me. I did a great deal of running and working. Laundry,picking up medicine,going to bread store and stocking up and ending up with grocery shopping. Everything needed to be taken home and put away. That was the good part of the day. While out I discovered that the trunk lock on my car was broke and I couldn't put anything in or take anything out. I didn't have a flat or need a jack so that wasn't too bad. When I came home and did what needed to be done I fell asleep in my chair. I got cold and thats when I discovered my furnace was not working. Had to call repair man. (Not a bill I needed but tired and cold is not a good feeling)
Furnace was fixed.
I knew I would not be able to do a great deal today and I didn't. My body hurt, my get up and go was gone, and I was just here today.

Isn't It Strange

You have to go to a funeral to see people. You are amazed how they have grown. Little girls are mothers now or engaged to be married. A former s-i-l is a widow after second marriage. Proof that does go on. You get teased about how you spanked your kids with a piece of "hot wheel" track. All kinds of memories.
