The Beauty of Fall

We still have the color even if faded. It reminds me of the great things that God does. I have been on the road more lately and have seen the beauty more. When I ride the senior bus I can look around more. My work for the coming couple of weeks is planing insurance coverage for the next year. With the prices, I have to plan to do the best I can not knowing what will happen with medicare and all the politics surrounding it. My complaint is the stores with all the Christmas displays up. We are still waiting for Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Missed and Now Back

My computer died but after a long time it came back when my son came up with a better one.  How it made me feel stupid! What does one do in that situation? I was thankful that it brought my son and his wife up for a visit; as there was nothing I could do.  The trees have been so beautiful but the wind is here and the leaves will be blown off the trees.  I was able to get a couple of color tours around here.  God does paint a pretty land in fall.

Busy Week

I suppose I was a little slow on taking advantage of what was available where I live. Just stayed in house alone not going anywhere except for maybe one day. NO MORE! I have been gone three days this week and plan two days each week. On Tuesday I am going to Iron Mountain on the bus. I can do what ever I need to do. Shop,go for lab work or appointments. The bus will take me where ever I need to go and pick me up when I am done. Don't need to do without something if I plan to get it on Tuesday. But most important I am traveling with a great bunch of people. I am not alone in case I have a problem. The bus driver is so caring,helpful to all the people on the bus. And she has a sense of humor. We eat lunch out with one person doing the picking when it is their turn to pick. I think I have laughed more this week than I have in a long time. Today we went to a bigger town about 50 miles at least away. That trip is once a month. On Wednesday, I went to the town nine miles away for lunch. Great meal for $4. A friend is there on Wednesday so thats when I go. I may go more. Another group of nice people! Hope we all can have such a nice week.

Update

I haven't posted for sometime as it didn't seem my blog was very interesting. When you get older what is interesting to you might not make for good reading. I have remained in the same small town and with the help of friends I am able to stay in my home. One friend comes and cuts my lawn and makes my yard look good. Another friend put my car's tail pipe back into the muffler and wired it up so I can drive my car. I drove home dragging my tail pipe for 20 miles. Now my car doesn't want to go in reverse unless it is warmed and as gone some miles. They are just waiting for my car to die completely. It still gets me around. In my house my son had to change the faucet in bathtub and connect a new hand held shower. I guess when a house is 100 years old it has problems. But it provides a roof over my head and a place for me to sit or sleep. When I care to I can cook a meal. Family wise I have gained my ninth great grand child-a beautiful little girl. I remembered my late husband last week as he has been gone for 46 years. When someone dies on a holiday (Labor Day) you don't forget. I am still around and plan to be around for some time longer. Have a great year ahead and now I think I have bored you enough.

Everyday Life

I am finding that nothing about me or my life is really worth having a blog. I have thoughts and ideas and they don't always match with the general public. Just an older lady that has lived a life with great joy and with great sadness.

Weather

We are setting warmth records. Trees are budding and plants are starting to rise. Sitting outside on my porch is wonderful. But I keep thinking of the snow and cold we can still get. It takes a little of the pleasure away.

Finally

I have been trying to get some furniture out of my house for almost a year. TODAY ITS GONE. Since I don't have a truck it was hard. There were some things in the yard that I wanted gone also. Made a start on them today.
Had to move furniture tonight. Not all done but love seat is where it is supposed to be. Chairs and table are not done because I am not sure where I want them. I am tired but it is a happy tired. I accomplished something. I have more things I want to do but tomorrow I may just move the chairs. Thanks Bob.

How I Spend a Day

Today was quiet. Went to check mail, made pot of soup,watched college basketball and got the garbage set to go out tomorrow morning. See QUIET.

Update

I am fine. Just have been quiet because my life is quiet usually in winter. Nothing exciting -just life going on. Some good days,some bad days just life. No need to worry!

White Is The Color

Everything is covered with a few inches of white snow. Freezing rain followed by snow has the trees and everything else covered. It is beautiful to see but not safe to leave house. Schools closed,roads not plowed. I can see the beauty but I feel sorry for the people that have to go out in this.

"ME" Morning

This morning was a "Me" morning. I stayed in bed. I didn't care what was going on in the world or around here. Didn't care if it was time to take my pills or feed my cat. Didn't care what was on facebook. When I heard my neighbors leave for work didn't care I stayed in bed. When the phone rang I didn't care. But when I looked at the time I decided to get up. Usually my son and I talk on facebook early in morning so I figured I better let him know I was still around but had just loss my get up and go. Its around here somewhere but I still don't care too much to look for it.

Family Time

I had a great weekend. I saw brother helping brother and the two doing things together. I sat at kitchen table playing a game. No rush to watch TV or go on computer. Just being together. My four sons and I have not been together in over 10 years. I realize what I am missing living alone for over 25 years. I must say I have a little longing for old fashion family time without electronics. I would like to see my sons all together with the wives included just talking and playing a game. I must really be getting old.

Great Day

After having a good nights rest I had some "get up and go"so I did. Went up to the place I retired from 18 years ago for a visit. Then went and did my laundry. Had some lunch and then went and did grocery shopping. Dragged my body to the car to head home but was detoured by an accident and road closure. So I went the long way home and stopped at second hand store. When I made it home there was a message from my grand daughter. So glad to hear from her. Now I am tired but thankful for the ability to do all that I did. (Not bragging just happy)

She is going to be okay. They were able to fix the problem. Praise the Lord!

Life Isn't Always Fair

Things happen and you don't know why. Prayer is all you have. My grand daughter who is only 26 years old is going to have heart surgery on Monday. My nephew fell and broke his hip and he had surgery this week.

Good Start of 2012 &Good End of2011

My day started out very cold below zero degrees. I was a little worried if my car would run and I had 1p.m. appointment for oil change. I was not going to try to start it until later and temperature up. When time came I went out and had no problem getting it started. I stopped at post office and when I started to go to oil change, brake light came on for a second and went out right away. When man started he discovered a broken brake line which was leaking brake fluid. All I could think was what if I had gone to do my wash. God's protection was working.

Since it was so cold I decided to fix a small pot of "fridge" soup. Had good left overs in the fridge and it made a great soup. I also finished filing all my bills for last year.
Last week I was fortunate to have visits from two of my sons and their wives. I also went to see another son and his wife with one of my sons. I also had a grand daughter and a great grand daughter along.
