Media--Do They Go To Far?

Yesterday I dropped the local ABC station's Local News. Iwon't watch their news anymore and I let them know why. We do not have to be told everything about someone. At almost 75 I am capable of knowing for myself when someone has done something wrong and do not need a TV news program to dig up bad things on a culprit before they are officially charged.
Even the family of one of the people killed asked that people don't make judgements until all the facts are known. Does that sound like the TV station should dig up things?
Media needs some rules. We do not need to be privey to everything in a person's life. Spreading tales does not bring one person back and hurts the family that lost someone.

Yes ~ and I'm tired of it! Good for you for standing up to the bullies!

Jodie, It was such a sad thing and it needed no great intelect to see who was at fault. But that station went to far!

the news media doesn't think the story is interesting unless it is BAD NEWS...
a good human interest story doesn't seem to interest them...
you did good standing up to them and letting them know what you think!!

Wise words I am sure: What caused them? I looked for "Greenbay ABC" and did not come very far. Everywhere I found CBS - ? And WHFX or something I do not understand at all.

Here is another round of ball-gaming, soccer, taking place. A Polish tabloid brought photoshopped pictures of the cut off heads of a German player and the trainer. Real tasteful. A German tabloid shot back with some stupid remarks about Poland in general. The point is that both cheap papers belong to the same publishing house: They simply wanted to stir up some s**t to sell.
They use emotions and prejudices and generally everything to sell. And seemingly blood and dirt sells best.

Mago, The station was WBAY and it is in Green Bay. I will not watch that stations' programs unless it comes from ABC Network. There isn't much we can do except turn it off. We don't have to sit by quietly and let them go off half-cocked.
We had presidents that had affairs and no one wrote or talked about them. There were people that didn't even know that FDR was in a wheel chair.
